
Zirakpur Police Arrested Lohgarh man with Chitta
The Zirakpur police have arrested a man for selling narcotics after a video of him allegedly selling drugs went viral on social media. The accused, Manjit Singh, a resident of Lohgarh, was arrested on Saturday and 2 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
According to the police, the video showed two girls claiming that they had purchased heroin from Manjit Singh. The police immediately swung into action and formed teams to investigate the matter. During the investigation, Manjit Singh was found to be involved in selling narcotics and was arrested.
The police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against Manjit Singh. The accused has been previously booked under the NDPS Act at City Khanna police station.
DSP Jaswinder Singh Gill, who is heading the investigation, said that the Zirakpur police are committed to eradicating the menace of narcotics from the area. He appealed to the public to come forward and report any suspicious activity related to narcotics.
The police are also investigating the role of other individuals who may be involved in the narcotics trade. The accused has been sent to judicial custody and further investigation is underway.
