Auckland News: A woman in Auckland, New Zealand, killed her dog by overfeeding it. The dog died due to overfeeding. Now the court has sentenced the woman to 2 months in jail. It is being told that the dog’s weight had increased to 54 kg. Due to this, it had become difficult for the dog to move. The woman kept feeding the dog carelessly, the dog became fat. Due to which his weight kept increasing continuously. The dog was also unable to move. Due to which he died. The Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has confirmed the case. Animal control officials said that the matter came to light in October 2021.

The dog’s name was Nuggi, who was seen during the raid at the woman’s house. When the officials checked, the dog’s weight was found to be 120 pounds (about 54 kilograms). After this, the SPCA people themselves started monitoring him. After which the dog was able to reduce its weight by only 8.8 kilograms (about 19.6 pounds). He died due to liver hemorrhage within two months. According to SPCA officials, the dog was given 10 pieces of chicken and dry food daily. When the officials tried to take the dog away from its mistress on foot, it was able to walk only 10 meters.

He was out of breath and stopped to rest 3 times in this distance. According to SPCA, his legs had almost failed to bear the weight of his body. Surprisingly, even when the doctors used a stethoscope, they could not hear his heartbeat. Many types of lumps were found on the dog’s elbows and stomach. The dog’s claws were very enlarged. Apart from this, Nuggi also had a problem of conjunctivitis. Now the woman has been sentenced by the Manukau District Court of Auckland. Apart from this, the woman will also have to pay a compensation of $ 720 (Rs 60,282).
