Budget 2024: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the first general budget of Modi government 3.0 in Parliament on Tuesday, in which special economic packages have been announced for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. After the presentation of the budget, while on the one hand BJP leaders are calling it a budget for the development of the country, on the other hand the opposition has raised many questions. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at the Modi government and said that special packages were given to Bihar and Andhra Pradesh to save the government. He also accused the central government of discriminating against the rest of the states. Apart from this, he also accused Uttar Pradesh of ignoring development and going against the interests of youth and farmers. Reacting to the special packages announced by Nirmala Sitharaman for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh in the budget, Akhilesh Yadav claimed that Uttar Pradesh is linked to Narendra Modi becoming the Prime Minister, yet there was no mention of it in his speech despite earlier promises to double the income of farmers in the state.

The youth of the country wants a permanent job

According to a PTI report, he also said that the youth of the country want permanent jobs, not half-hearted ones. Reacting to the general budget today, Yadav told reporters in the Parliament House complex, “Big things are said according to the figures, but the projects that are going on have not been completed on time… If the government has to be saved, then it is a good thing that Bihar and Andhra Pradesh have been linked with special packages or special schemes.” He asked, “Are there any big decisions for the farmers of Uttar Pradesh, which the Prime Minister gives? Yadav alleged that big announcements were made about the Mandi in Uttar Pradesh last time, but not a single Mandi was built.

Central government increased unemployment

He also alleged that the central government has increased unemployment and now it is talking about half-hearted jobs and internships. He said, “The dream of a job is being shown by providing training and internships. The youth of the country want permanent jobs to build their future.” Yadav asked whether there will be reservation in half-hearted jobs and what arrangements have been made for permanent jobs through this budget? He said that if ‘GIFT’ city can be built in Gujarat, then why can’t it be built in Varanasi or Gorakhpur. The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh alleged that the entire country has been ignored in the budget.
