Vinesh Phogat In Paris Olympics 2024: Vinesh Phogat made it to the final of the women’s wrestling 50 kg category of Paris Olympics 2024. Vinesh defeated Cuba’s Yusnilis Guzman 5-0 in the semi-finals and moved towards the final. With this win, Vinesh confirmed another medal for India. With this win, Vinesh has also maintained India’s 16-year streak. In fact, for the last 16 years, India has definitely won an Olympic medal in wrestling. 

Vinesh has ensured a medal for India in wrestling by maintaining the legacy of the last 16 years. However, Vinesh is expected to win the gold by winning the final match. For the gold medal, Vinesh will compete against Sarah Hildebrandt of the United States in the final today i.e. on Wednesday, August 7. 

India has won medals every time in wrestling since 2008 Olympics

Although India has won medals in wrestling in every Olympics since 2008, it has not been able to win gold even once. However, this time gold is expected from Vinesh Phogat. If Vinesh wins gold, she will become the first wrestler to win gold for India in wrestling at the Olympics. Now it will be interesting to see what Vinesh gets today.

Let us tell you that Vinesh Phogat entered the field in the 50 kg freestyle category. Vinesh came on the field last Tuesday (August 06). She played her first match in the round of 16, in which she faced Yui Susaki of Japan. Vinesh defeated Yui Susaki 3-2 and made it to the next i.e. quarter-final round. In the quarter-final, Vinesh faced Oxana Livach of Ukraine. Vinesh defeated Oxana 7-5 and secured her place in the semi-finals. 

Then in the semi-finals, Vinesh faced Yusnilis Guzman of Cuba. Vinesh defeated Yusnilis 5-0 and entered the finals. By reaching the finals, she also confirmed a medal for India. Now Vinesh will play the final match for the gold medal against Sarah Hildebrandt of the United States.
