A police sub-inspector has been arrested and dismissed from his job with immediate effect for assaulting a cab driver and robbing him of Rs 7,000. Apart from this, many other police officers have been suspended for negligence and the Police Commissioner has removed Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone) Suniti from her post and appointed Shakti Mohan Awasthi in her place.
Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh’s spokesperson said that a case has come to light in Bisrakh police station area where trainee sub-inspector Amit Mishra and his two companions Abhinav and Ashish allegedly assaulted a cab driver and looted Rs 7,000 from him. He said that a case has been registered against the sub-inspector and his companions in this case and Amit has been arrested and the police is trying to arrest Abhinav and Ashish.
The spokesperson said that despite knowing about the incident, DCP (Central Noida) Suniti has been relieved from the post and Shakti Mohan Awasthi has been appointed for not taking action for two days and hiding it from the higher authorities.
He said that for negligence in this case, Inspector in-charge of Bisrakh police station Arvind Kumar, outpost in-charge of Gaur City Ramesh Chandra and Sub-Inspector Mohit have been suspended. He said that Amit Mishra has been dismissed from service under Rule 8(2) B of the Punishment and Appeal Rules 1991 for Subordinate Category Police Officers.
