The case of alleged use of animal fat in making famous Tirupati laddus has now reached the Supreme Court. The petitioner’s lawyer alleged that this case violates the fundamental Hindu religious customs and hurts the faith of crores of devotees who consider prasad as sacred as Prasad. The petitioner, while presenting his case, said that animal fat was being used in the prasad laddus, which clearly shows that the temple administration is at fault in this.
The whole matter started after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s statement on Wednesday, in which he said that during the previous YSR Congress government, animal fat was used in making prasad laddus given in Tirupati. Citing a report of a Gujarat lab, the state government said that traces of beef and fish oil and pig fat were found in the ghee used to make laddus.
YSR Congress approaches Andhra High Court

The party’s lawyer urged the honourable court that the allegations levelled by the Chief Minister are very serious. Therefore, a sitting judge or a committee appointed by the High Court should investigate these claims. On this, the High Court said that file a PIL by Wednesday after which the court will hear it.
Congress said- if the claims are false then people will not forgive
On the allegations made by Chandrababu Naidu, the Congress said that if the claims turn out to be false or motivated, then lakhs of Hindu devotees will not forgive those who tampered with their faith. He said that if the claims of sacrilege are true then it should be investigated. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said on X that if the claims of insult to Tirupati Laddu are true, then of course, a full investigation should be conducted to identify the culprits and give the strictest punishment, but if the claims are false or motivated then lakhs of devotees of Tirupati will not forgive those who tampered with their faith. But till then it is right for the BJP to let this matter fly in the air of polarization in the election season.
