Sudesh Lahiri, who makes everyone laugh with his punch line in Laughter Chef, is also the mentor of comedian Bharti Singh and Krishna Abhishek. He was popular in Punjab at a time when Kapil Sharma or any other comedian was not even a name. However, despite earning fame, he had to struggle with financial problems.
Sudesh Lahiri himself revealed this in Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast LOL. Recalling that moment, the comedian said, “My first audio on PTC in Punjab was a superhit. People had not seen my face, but they used to laugh after listening to my voice. But sometimes it happens that there is name but no money, this is what happened with me, when I did not even have money to run the house”.
The award kept at home was sold for Rs 300
Recalling his days of struggle, Sudesh Lahiri further said,
“My show was a huge hit on PTC Punjab, for which the organizer said that he wanted to honor me with an award show. Because at that time I did not have money for anything, let alone going to the show. I gave my trophy (award) to the organizer’s team, which I had received earlier, I told them to give me Rs 300 for it. When I come on stage, you honor me with this shield. Seeing my helplessness, the organizer also agreed to my request and he gave me Rs 300, then I did further work from there”.
Sudesh Lahiri also told that in those days a bungalow and a car brought name and fame to someone. Let us tell you that Sudesh Lahiri is getting a lot of love in Laughter Chef, people are liking his comedy with Krishna very much.
