Chandigarh: Guru Purnima program was organized in Prachin Kala Kendra Mohali under the joint aegis of Sanskar Bharti Chandigarh unit and Prachin Kala Kendra Chandigarh. On this occasion, the chief guest in the program was Mr. Lavish Kumar, General Secretary of Punjab State and Rishi Raj Tomar, Co-General Secretary of Punjab State were present. In the program, Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan explained the importance of Kala Guru Samman and gave information about the achievements of the respected Kala Guru Shri Balkar Singh Sidhu. After that, Mr. Balkar Singh Sidhu was honored with “Kala Guru Samman” by his disciples on behalf of Sanskar Bharti Chandigarh unit by performing Guru Pooja as per the rules and rituals of the Guru-disciple tradition. On this happy occasion, Jhumar and Luddi dance were presented by his disciples, which was very commendable. On this occasion, in the second phase also, street play (Manthan Art) with songs was performed. The play prepared by Heera Singh and Yashpal showed a glimpse of Indian culture.
