Chandigarh: The National Investigation Agency on Saturday filed a chargesheet against ten people accused of firing at the house of a businessman in Chandigarh by associates of terrorist Goldy Brar.
The name of terrorist Goldy Brar is also included among the accused named in the chargesheet, who has been absconding for a long time.
According to an official release, Goldy Brar has been named as the main conspirator in the case. He has been accused of forming a terrorist gang to carry out terrorist activities in India.
His close associate Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon, who is absconding, has also been charged as a co-conspirator in the case.
In January, the house of a Chandigarh businessman was attacked
The businessman’s house in Chandigarh was attacked on January 19 this year. Terrorist Goldy Brar’s associates had opened fire at the victim’s house. Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar had earlier demanded extortion from the businessman.
According to the release, Goldy Brar and Goldy Dhillon had recruited the arrested accused into their terror gang. According to the NIA investigation, it was found that Brar was running a large terror-extortion-narco network through his India-based associates.
They target wealthy businessmen
Investigation revealed that the accused had hatched a conspiracy to target wealthy businessmen in Punjab, Chandigarh and other states of India. As per Brar’s modus operandi, if the businessmen refused to make the payments, their houses were attacked or firing was carried out.
Besides Goldy Brar and Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon alias Goldy Rajpura, the other chargesheeted accused have been identified as Gurwinder Singh alias Laddi, Kashi Singh alias Harry, Shubham Kumar Giri alias Pandit, Amritpal Singh alias Gujjar, Kamalpreet Singh, Prem Singh, Sarabjit Singh alias Sarboo and Gagandeep Singh alias Goldy.
