Maharaj took a wicket in the last over of the match and gave his team a 40-run victory and also won the title of ‘Player of the Series’.

With this match, Keshav Maharaj broke Hugh Tayfield’s record. Maharaj took 171 wickets in 52 matches in his Test career. He made his Test debut against Australia in 2016 and has made significant contributions with his bowling so far. Keshav Maharaj has now become the highest wicket-taking spinner for South Africa.

Keshav Maharaj had also performed well in the Caribbean tour before the Test played in Guyana. He put the West Indies batting in trouble by taking two wickets in the first innings. He also bowled brilliantly in the second innings and took three important wickets including the last wicket, which decided the result of the match.

have moved to the fifth spot on the World Test Championship points table, while the West Indies remain at the ninth spot with just one win in the tournament so far.
