New powerful 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV launched in India, know price and features
Jeep India (Jeep India) launched Jeep Grand Cherokee (New Jeep Grand Cherokee) SUV in the country at an ex-showroom price of Rs 77.5 lakh. At this price, the new Grand Cherokee has become the largest and most expensive SUV from the American automobile brand in India. This SUV has already been introduced in the global market and now it has been launched in India. The Jeep Grand Cherokee will be sold in India as a CKD unit assembled in Maharashtra. This latest model is the fifth generation model of the powerful Jeep SUV. Also, India is the first right-hand drive market to get the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The New Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV gets a bold and aggressively strong design that gives it a formidable road presence. Furthermore, it comes with several onboard technologies that deliver highly powerful performance over rough terrains as well as on smooth roads. The SUV has already sold over 7 million units worldwide in its three decades of existence. The automaker claimed that the deliveries of the India-spec Jeep Grand Cherokee will begin from the end of this month.
Production Started
Jeep has started locally assembling the fifth generation Grand Cherokee SUV. The SUV will soon be displayed in the showroom. This is the second biggest launch of the year for the US-based carmaker after the Meridian earlier this year. In its new generation, which has already debuted in the global markets, the Grand Cherokee is the most premium offering from the carmaker in India.
Engine Power
Talking about the mechanical details of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV, it gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 270 hp power and 400 Nm peak torque. Talking about the offroading capability of the car, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee can wade through 533 mm of deep water. And it gets a ground clearance of 215 mm, which combined ensure that the SUV can take on the challenges of off-Roading. An interesting technology in this SUV is Jeep’s latest QuadraTec 4X4 system which requires a high level of articulation to tackle extreme terrain.
Interior & Features
While the exterior look of the SUV is quite masculine, the cabin of the car is equally attractive and looks premium. The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets a sporty blacked-out interior theme with a mix of Asphalt Gray and Piano Black trims. It gets a main 10.1-inch screen with HDMI playback along with a separate entertainment display for the co-passenger. The screen gets the privacy treatment, so the driver is not distracted while driving. The dual infotainment system upfront is certainly one of the major USPs of the cabin. At the rear, the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets a huge boot space of 1,076-litres, which can be further expanded by dropping the second row seats.
Look and Design
Talking about the design of the SUV, the seven slat front grille has been given with chrome trims around it. The front grille now houses sharper headlamps with LED units, and the front bumper looks much sleeker than before. Black accents have been given around the lower air intake and fog lamps of the SUV. The masculine look is also seen in the side profile and rear of the SUV. The SUV gets 5-spoke machined alloy wheels.
