JEE Main 2024 Entrance Exam Dates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the JEE Main 2024 exam dates for two sessions:

Session 1: January 24 to February 1, 2024
Session 2: April 1 to 15, 2024

The registration process for Session 1 of JEE Main 2024 is currently ongoing and will end on November 30, 2023. The registration fee for JEE Main 2024 is ₹1000 for general candidates and ₹500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2024

To be eligible to appear for JEE Main 2024, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

Have passed the Class 12th examination with a minimum of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or with a rank within the top 20 percentile in the Class 12th examination conducted by the respective Boards.
Have passed the Class 12th examination in the science stream (PCM) from a recognized board or institute.

Syllabus for JEE Main 2024

The syllabus for JEE Main 2024 is as follows:

Physics:

Mechanics: Laws of Motion, Work, Energy, and Power, Oscillations, Waves, and Thermodynamics.
Electromagnetism: Electric Field, Magnetic Field, Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance, Current Electricity, Magnetism, and Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current.
Optics: Reflection, Refraction, Dispersion, and Wave Optics.
Modern Physics: Atomic Physics, Nuclear Physics, and Semiconductor Physics.

Chemistry:

Inorganic Chemistry: Chemical Bonding, Structure and Properties of Chemical Compounds, States of Matter, Thermodynamics, and Chemical Equilibrium.
Physical Chemistry: Stoichiometry, Chemical Kinetics, Atomic Structure and Chemical Bonding, Electrochemistry, and Chemical Thermodynamics.
Organic Chemistry: Basic Concepts of Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Functional Groups, Isomerism, Stereochemistry, and Chemistry of Functional Groups.

Mathematics:

Algebra: Basic Algebraic Operations, Sets, Relations, and Functions, Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, and Sequences and Series.
Calculus: Limits, Derivatives, and Applications of Derivatives, Integral Calculus, and Applications of Integral Calculus.
Trigonometry: Trigonometric Functions, Trigonometric Equations, and Trigonometric Identities.

Exam Pattern for JEE Main 2024

JEE Main 2024 will be a computer-based test (CBT) conducted in two sessions:

Session 1: For admission to undergraduate engineering programs (B.E/B. Tech.) at NITs, IITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments
Session 2: For admission to B. Architecture and B. Planning courses

JEE Main 2024 Application Form

Candidates can apply for JEE Main 2024 through the NTA’s official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The application form is available online and can be filled and submitted from November 1 to November 30, 2023.
