The government has made PUC (Pollution Under Control) test mandatory for filling petrol in vehicles. If you go to fill petrol in your vehicle without PUC, then you are sure to be fined Rs 10,000.
In this regard, the Delhi government has given a tender to a private company to install cameras and software for PUC testing at 100 petrol pumps. Due to this, Navgati Tech Company has to start its services within 15 days.
E-challan of 10 thousand rupees will be deducted
Regarding this, the Transport Department official says that the company has been asked to prepare the system for PUC testing within 15 days, the estimated cost of which is Rs 6 crore.
Under this scheme, if the vehicles coming to the petrol pumps do not have a valid PUC, then a few hours will be given for pollution check and if the PUC is not made in this time period, then an e-challan of Rs 10,000 will be automatically deducted and information about this will be sent to the vehicle owner on his mobile.
The camera will scan and find out everything
Along with this, the transport officer also says that the cameras will scan the number plate to find out whether the vehicle has a valid PUC or not. Actually, vehicles are periodically tested for emission standards of various pollutants like carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2), after which they are given a PUC certificate.
Many people escape getting caught because they use local vehicles, but now with the technology installed in petrol pumps, these people will not be able to dodge.
