Rampur (Shimla). After Thursday, the relatives of the missing people remained firm on Friday also in Samej of Rampur subdivision of Shimla district. They are hopeful that their loved ones will be safe. However, their eyes have started drying up while searching for their loved ones amidst the flowing water and debris.
33 people are missing due to the floods caused by the cloudburst on Wednesday night. On Friday, the administration has started a search operation by lowering a big JCB into the ravine. The Indian Army has even started the work of building a temporary bridge on both sides of the ravine in Shimla and Kullu districts.
In 2006, a terrible tragedy struck Ganvi village
A terrible tragedy had occurred in Ganvi village in Rampur Bushahr on 14 August 2006 and 52 people were caught in the flood due to cloudburst and lost their lives. Villagers were present near Samej Khad since Friday morning in search of their loved ones. NDRF, Army personnel, local police, ITBP, CISF, Home Guards, local people were engaged in searching for the missing people.
The whole family was lost in the accident
Many villagers have lost their entire family in this accident, while some have lost other family members. They are crying inconsolably. A health check-up camp has been set up by the Indian Army for the villagers and medicines are being given to them. This is providing relief.
