Kumari Selja

Chandigarh. The politics of the state has heated up over Sirsa’s Congress MP Kumari Selja, who has been away from the election campaign in Haryana. While the Congress high command and former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda are silent on the issue of Selja, the BJP and BSP have made it an election issue on Saturday. Union Minister Manohar Lal and Arjun Meghwal along with BSP coordinator Akash Anand invited Kumari Selja to join their parties and also cornered the Hooda father-son duo on this issue.

Chandramohan Bishnoi called Selja the future CM

Chandramohan Bishnoi, Congress candidate from Panchkula, supported Selja and called her the future CM. BSP’s Akash Anand even said that BSP is not a party but a home for Dalit leaders. If they are being insulted in Congress, then BSP invites them to come to its home.

Selja is angry over casteist remarks

Kumari Selja is out of the election campaign in Haryana after some Congress workers made casteist and personal comments on her. Selja has not been participating in public events for the past one week. Leader of Opposition in Haryana Bhupendra Hooda has opposed any such comments, no efforts have been made so far to bring Selja into the electoral fray.

People will never forget the insult of Selja- Arjun Ram Meghwal

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, who was on a visit to Haryana, condemned the comments made by Congress leaders on Kumari Selja. He said that the Congress has a tradition of insulting Dalits. The BJP does not tolerate the insult of any leader, nor does it encourage the use of abusive words.

He said that the way Bhupendra Singh Hooda and his supporters have insulted Selja, the public will never forget it and Congress will have to pay the price for it. Congress candidate from Panchkula and former Deputy Chief Minister Chandramohan said that Selja is a senior leader of the party and the future Chief Minister of the state. Such behaviour with her is not appropriate.

‘We are ready to take Selja along’

Former Haryana Chief Minister and Union Minister Manohar Lal said in an interview to a TV channel on Saturday that the Congress party has insulted Dalit leader Kumari Selja. Selja was even abused and now she is sitting at home.

Senior Congress leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda and the Gandhi family are not ashamed even after insulting him. Pointing towards the Dalit community, he said that a large section is thinking about what to do. We have brought many leaders with us and we are ready to bring them with us too.
