In today’s time, it is very important to have a Fastag installed in the vehicle. If the vehicle does not have a Fastag, then double toll tax has to be paid. Along with this, it is also important to keep the Fastag updated. Recently, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has implemented new rules related to Fastag from August 1.
Extra money deducted from fastag
Sometimes extra money is deducted from the Fastag without even crossing the toll. One such case has come to light from Madhya Pradesh. At times, money is deducted twice instead of once from the Fastag at the toll plaza. But there is a way to get this money back. You can get back the extra money deducted by just one call.
How to get money back in Fastag account?
If double amount is deducted from the Fastag account or extra payment is made, a complaint can be lodged by calling NHAI’s toll-free number 1033. On calling this number, your complaint will be accepted by following the guidelines given by the authority.
If the complaint lodged by you is found to be correct, the wrongly deducted money will be refunded back to your Fastag account. This entire process may take 20 to 30 days.
Contact the bank
Apart from the NHAI helpline number, there is another way to get the money refunded. For this, you will have to contact the bank that issued your Fastag. Bank employees can visit the NPCI (National Payments Corporation) website to get information about the helpline number and register your complaint. After this, if the complaint is found to be correct, the money will be refunded to your Fastag account
