Engineer’s Day 2024: The birth anniversary (15 September) of India’s great engineer Sir M Visvesvaraya is celebrated as Engineer’s Day in India. Sir M Visvesvaraya was born on this day in 1861. He was awarded India’s highest honor Bharat Ratna in 1955. Civil engineer Visvesvaraya has a very important role in India’s infrastructure development. He built the Raja Sagar Dam in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, he is also the father of block system for flood protection and drainage management. Engineer’s Day is celebrated not only in India but also in other countries. America

Engineers Day in the United States is celebrated on February 22 on the birth anniversary of George Washington.

Bangladesh

Engineer’s Day is celebrated on 7 May in Bangladesh. The Institution of Engineers was established on this day in 1948.

Switzerland

Engineers Day is celebrated here on March 4. It was started in the year 2018 by an engineer Daniel Lohar and Christianvilles.

Sri Lanka and Tanzania

In Sri Lanka and Tanzania, Engineers Day is celebrated on the same day as India, i.e. on 15 September. The special thing is that both these countries also celebrate Engineers Day on 15 September in honour of Sir M Visvesvaraya.

Pakistan

Engineer’s Day was celebrated for the first and last time in Pakistan on 10 January 2014.
