
Delhi to Get New Government as BJP’s Rekha Gupta to Take Oath as Chief Minister
New Delhi, February 19, 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to form a new government in Delhi, with Rekha Gupta as the Chief Minister. Gupta has recommended the names of her cabinet ministers to the Lieutenant Governor, and the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 20 at Ramlila Maidan.
The new cabinet will consist of seven ministers, including:
1. Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma (New Delhi)
2. Ashish Sood (Janakpuri)
3. Manjinder Singh Sirsa (Rajouri Garden)
4. Ravinder Singh (Indraraj) (Bawana – Scheduled)
5. Kapil Mishra (Karawal Nagar)
6. Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh (Vikaspuri)

Names of Vijendra Gupta as Speaker and Mohan Singh Bisht as Deputy Speaker are proposed.
The BJP has sought approval from the Lieutenant Governor for the formation of the new government, ensuring good governance in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Rekha Gupta was elected as the leader of the BJP legislative party after the party won 48 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly elections on February 8. The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be attended by top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and party president JP Nadda.
The new government’s agenda and ability to fulfill the BJP’s election promises will be closely watched in the coming days.
