The NHRC has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary of Delhi, the Police Commissioner and the Chairman of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited and sought a report within two weeks.

In fact, on July 22, while going to his room during waterlogging after rain in Patel Nagar area of Delhi, Nilesh, who was preparing for civil services, caught hold of an iron pole, due to which he got electrocuted. The commission found that according to media reports, the negligence of the officials in this has clearly become the reason for the death of the victim and this is a serious issue of violation of human rights. Waterlogging in the area and the flow of current from the electric pole to the iron gate is gross negligence.
