UP News: Former MLA Udaybhan Karvariya, who is serving life sentence in the murder case of Samajwadi Party MLA, can be released from jail on Tuesday. He will be released from Naini Central Jail after 8 years and 9 months. The government had ordered his premature release on July 19 in the life sentence.

In fact, on the recommendation of the Yogi government, the governor had pardoned the remaining sentence of Udaybhan Karvariya’s life imprisonment. A report has been sent from the police stations of Prayagraj and Kaushambi not to detain the former MLA in any other case. The jail authorities have also received an order from the Prison Administration and Correctional Services Department to release Udaybhan.

Controversy over the government’s decision

After getting the order of release from jail, now after completing the paper formalities, the release can happen on Tuesday. However, a controversy has arisen over the decision of the Yogi government to pardon the sentence. The family members of the murdered former MLA Jawahar Pandit and the leaders of the Samajwadi Party have raised questions on this decision of the Yogi government.

SP leaders have expressed their objection to the pardon given to a convicted prisoner who was found guilty of serious charges like the murder of an MLA. Family members and opposition leaders say that on one hand the Yogi government appeals for law and order and on the other hand it works to get the BJP leader guilty of the murder of an MLA released from jail despite the court’s order.

SP leaders say that the accused serving life sentence is a BJP leader and former MLA, so his sentence has been pardoned. This is why the family of murdered MLA Jawahar Pandit is preparing to challenge the decision of the Yogi government in court.
