Delhi. CBI arrested NBCC DGM for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5 lakh from the complainant
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the DGM of NBCC Limited for demanding and accepting undue advantage of Rs 5 lakh as a part of the bribe of Rs 11.40 lakh demanded by the accused from the complainant.
The complainant, who is executing a construction project in Leh, made a written complaint against the DGM alleging that the said DGM was demanding undue favour of Rs. 7.40 lakhs for sanctioning a contract item. During verification of the complaint, the accused DGM demanded undue favour of Rs. 11.40 lakhs over and above the earlier demand. Thus, CBI registered a case against the said accused.
CBI laid a trap and caught the said DGM of NBCC Ltd red handed while demanding and accepting undue advantage of Rs. 5 lakhs as part of the demanded amount of Rs. 11.40 lakhs. The
accused DGM has been arrested and will be produced before the competent court in Delhi today.
The residential premises of the accused in Delhi was searched.
Investigation is ongoing in this matter.
