Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has suffered a major setback in Punjab. Dr Sukhwinder Sukhi, two-time consecutive MLA from Banga assembly constituency, has said goodbye to the Akali Dal and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. CM Bhagwant Mann called a press conference in Chandigarh and got Sukhwinder Sukhi to join the Aam Aadmi Party. During this, Aam Aadmi Party’s organization general secretary Sandeep Pathak was also present. Other party leaders were also present. Along with MLA Sukhwinder Sukhi, his colleagues and supporters have also joined the Aam Aadmi Party. The CM has said that everyone should be given respect in the party.

While making Sukhwinder Sukhi join the Aam Aadmi Party, CM Bhagwant Mann said that Sukhwinder Sukhi comes from the land of Shaheed Bhagat Singh (Banga). He is a person of good thinking and ideas. He is working forward on the ideas of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh. After coming into politics and becoming an MLA, Sukhwinder Sukhi is serving the people as a doctor. He has been working especially for the oppressed people. His arrival will strengthen the Aam Aadmi Party. The party will use Sukhwinder Sukhi’s experience and he will also get responsibility in the organization and the government from time to time. Everyone will work together.

After joining the Aam Aadmi Party, Banga MLA Dr Sukhwinder Sukhi said that, I have joined the Aam Aadmi Party for the policies of CM Bhagwant Mann and the development of Banga constituency. I will work with the party with full loyalty. On leaving the Akali Dal, Sukhi said that, I have no problem with the Akali Dal or Sukhbir Badal. I have become an MLA twice because of the Akali Dal. But now I think that, for the development of the Banga constituency, I should join the Aam Aadmi Party under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Mann. So that development work can be done in the Banga constituency and people get facilities.

Sukhwinder Sukhi gave a statement regarding his resignation from the post of MLA after joining Aam Aadmi Party from Akali Dal. Sukhwinder Sukhi said that a decision will be taken on this in the coming time as per the law and rules. Let us tell you that Sukhwinder Sukhi was elected as a member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly from Banga Assembly constituency in 2017 and 2022.
