Chandigarh: In a major breakthrough against a drug smuggling network, Punjab Police arrested two drug smugglers near the Indo-Pak border. 6.655 kg heroin and drug money worth Rs 6 lakh was recovered from them.
Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav said that on receiving technical information, the CIA team of District Ferozepur successfully launched an operation and recovered heroin and drug money. He said that an FIR has been registered in this regard and the smugglers have been arrested. DGP Gaurav Yadav said that investigation is being carried out to trace the contacts of the smugglers. He said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police is committed to make the state drug-free and destroy the network of drug smuggling.
