Bhagat Singh was born on 28 September 1907 in Lyallpur district of Punjab. His father Kishan Singh Sandhu was a revolutionary and his family had roots in Rajasthan. Bhagat Singh received his education in Lahore and soon he got involved in revolutionary activities. Bhagat Singh founded an organization called Hindustan Republican Association (HRA) for his revolutionary activities. He, along with his comrades, participated in many revolutionary activities, including the assassination of Lahore Superintendent of Police John P. Sanders and the bomb blast in the Delhi Central Assembly.

Bhagat Singh Bhagat Singh was arrested in 1928 and was sentenced to death after trial. On 23 March 1931, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged in Lahore Jail.
