In Hanuta Kothar village under Mangawan police station of Rewa, a case has come to light of an attempt to bury two women alive by pouring gravel on them from a dumper in a family dispute over land. However, due to the promptness of the police, this could not happen.

In this case, Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh said that this is a family dispute. In this case, the police have seized the dumper. The accused Vipin Pandey has been taken into custody by the police, while the search for two other accused is on. The women were also treated in the hospital, from where they have been discharged.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police force reached the spot. Here the complainant Asha Pandey, wife of Suresh Pandey (25 years) told the police that she had a dispute with her father-in-law Gaukaran Pandey regarding the path on the shared land.

He told that on Saturday afternoon at around 2 o’clock, Gaukaran Pandey and brother-in-law Vipin Pandey brought gravel in a dumper to build a road on the disputed land. There Asha Pandey went with her sister-in-law Mamta Pandey and started refusing the dumper driver to dump the gravel. When the dumper driver did not listen to both of them, they started sitting behind the dumper at the place where the gravel was to be dumped. Meanwhile, suddenly the dumper driver dumped the gravel at a high speed. Both of them started getting buried in the gravel, then the villagers present on the spot took them out and took them to the hospital.

Meanwhile, ADG Law and Order Jaideep Prasad said that on Saturday, in a family land dispute in village Hinota Kothar of Mangawan police station in Rewa district, gravel fell on two women Asha Pandey and Mamta Pandey. This family is Pandey family and there was no Dalit/tribal woman in it. Police has registered a case and seized the dumper. One accused Vipin Pandey is in police custody and the other two accused will be arrested soon.
