Atishi, who is going to become the new Chief Minister of Delhi, has been accused by Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal of her own party. Swati Maliwal has said that Atishi’s parents fought to save terrorist Afzal Guru from hanging. Maliwal, who became a rebel after accusing Kejriwal of attacking her on May 13 at his residence, also linked it to the security of the country and said that today is a sad day for Delhi.
Swati Maliwal wrote on Instagram, ‘Today is a very sad day for Delhi. Today, the Chief Minister of Delhi is being made a woman whose family fought a long battle to save terrorist Afzal Guru from hanging. Her parents wrote mercy petitions to the Honorable President to save terrorist Afzal Guru. According to them, Afzal Guru was innocent and he was framed under a political conspiracy. Although Atishi Marlena is just a ‘Dummy CM’, still this issue is related to the security of the country. May God protect Delhi!’
Maliwal has also posted a picture of Atishi with her parents, an alleged mercy petition and a video clip with her post. Aam Aadmi Party reacted sharply to Swati Maliwal’s statement and demanded her resignation. AAP leader Dilip Pandey said, ‘Swati Maliwal is such a person who takes a ticket from Aam Aadmi Party to go to Rajya Sabha and takes the script from BJP to give a response. If she has some shame, she should resign from the Rajya Sabha post and ask for a Rajya Sabha ticket from BJP.’
BJP leaders are also accusing Atishi’s parents of fighting for Afzal Guru. BJP leader Kapil Mishra wrote a post on Instagram making the allegation. He said that Kejriwal is committing the sin of imposing Naxalite mentality on Delhi through the backdoor. Pradeep Bhandari, who recently became BJP spokesperson from a journalist, also made this allegation on Atishi. He said, ‘There was a time when Atishi’s family was trying to stop Afzal Guru’s hanging.’
