Two days after getting bail from the Supreme Court in the excise policy ‘scam’ case, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reached the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters on Sunday. After meeting party leaders and workers, CM Kejriwal addressed the workers. During this, CM Kejriwal made a big announcement and said that ‘I will resign from the post of CM after two days.’
Making a big announcement, he said, ‘I am going to resign after two days from today. I will not sit on the CM’s chair until I sit on the CM’s chair. Until the public gives its verdict that Kejriwal is honest, I will not sit on the chair.’
My demand is that elections should be held immediately: Arvind Kejriwal
Kejriwal said, ‘Some people are saying that the Supreme Court has imposed some conditions, in the last 10 years they have left no stone unturned in imposing conditions. The central government tried to stop my work by making laws. These conditions have also been considered. If you think Kejriwal is honest, then vote in my favour. Elections are in February. My demand is that elections should be held immediately. Elections should be held along with Maharashtra in November. The new CM should be elected in the next 1-2 days.
Sisodia will also not take any post: Kejriwal
CM Kejriwal said that Manish Sisodia has also said that he will also take up the post of Deputy CM and Education Minister only when he is elected by the people. During this, Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘Satendra Jain, Amanatullah Khan will also come out soon. The people of Delhi prayed for us, I thank them… I read many books in jail – Ramayan, Geeta… I have brought Bhagat Singh’s jail diary with me. I also read Bhagat Singh’s diary.
AAP changed the politics of the country: Kejriwal
Before this, CM Kejriwal said, ‘Their small party changed the politics of the country. I got time to think in jail. I wrote only one letter from the jail and that too to LG sahab, it was 15th August, on the occasion of Independence Day, the CM hoists the flag. I said that Atishi ji was allowed to hoist the flag. That letter was returned to me and I was warned that if I write a letter a second time, I will not even be allowed to meet my family.’
Why did you not resign till now? Kejriwal replied
Kejriwal said, ‘Why did they send me to jail, it is not that Kejriwal did corruption. Their aim was to break the Aam Aadmi Party, break Kejriwal. Their formula is to break the party, break the MLAs, conduct ED raids. They thought that they will break the party by putting Kejriwal in jail.’ The CM said, ‘I did not resign because I want to save the democracy of the country. If I had resigned.. they would have put everyone in jail one by one because they have filed cases against Siddaramaiah, Mamata Didi, Pinarayi Vijayan, everyone. I would like to tell all the Chief Ministers of the country that if they do this to you while being the Chief Minister, then do not resign from your post…. Today AAP has the strength to fight every conspiracy of theirs because we are honest.’
