An Indian family, which had crossed the border to Pakistan to attend the wedding ceremony of their relative, has been stuck in the neighbouring country for the last two years due to their visa-related complications. Majid Hussain, who married a Pakistani woman Tahir Jabeen in 2007, brought her to India after the marriage and they settled in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.

The couple led a peaceful life and raised three children together. However, in 2022, the family travelled to Pakistan to attend Tahir’s brother’s wedding, a trip that was only supposed to last three months.

However, due to unforeseen circumstances their stay was extended by two days, causing their visas to expire. Since then, the family has been stuck in Pakistan, unable to return to India. Despite their constant efforts to resolve the situation, they have been unsuccessful.

Majid’s mother and sisters, who are currently living in Rampur, are distraught and have sought the Indian government’s help to bring back their family members. Majid’s mother Faimida also claimed that there has been no progress despite submitting all the necessary documents to Pakistani authorities.

The family members also claimed that Majid often calls them and says he is in serious trouble and needs to return home. Another relative, Shakir Ali, said that Majid and the children are eligible for visas, but Tahir’s application is getting rejected, leaving the entire family in limbo. The distressed family is continuing its efforts to reach out to higher authorities in the Indian government, hoping for assistance in reuniting their relatives.
