Bharatnatyam is the Classical and Toughest Form of Dance from INDIA
Chandigarh, March 4, 2025: Dr. Varun Khanna, affectionately known as the “Dancing Dentist,” recently unveiled his book, “Bharatanatyam,” at a local book store in Chandigarh. The exclusive Meet & Greet and book signing event drew art enthusiasts and readers eager to meet the author.
Dr. Khanna, a senior disciple of Padmabhushan Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Mrs. Rama Vaidyanathan, proudly presented his self-penned book, published by Parragon Publications. The book offers an engaging narrative on the history, evolution, and prospects of Bharatanatyam, accompanied by vibrant photographs and personal anecdotes.
“I’ve always sought to propagate classical arts through various mediums. Writing this book was a natural progression for me,” shared Dr. Khanna. “It’s designed to be an accessible read for both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts.”
The book was officially launched on February 7, 2025, at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, with Grammy Award winner Pandit Rakesh Chaurasia and Padmashri Dr. Kiran Sehgal gracing the occasion. Dr. Khanna’s late teacher, Padmabhushan Guru Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan, wrote a heartfelt foreword for the book, while Padmashri Dr. Narthaki Nataraj contributed her thoughts on what readers can expect.

The book is now available for purchase on Amazon and Flipkart. Dr. Khanna expressed his gratitude to his family, teachers, and fellow artists who have inspired him throughout his dance journey.
With this book, Dr. Khanna aims to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of Bharatanatyam, making it an invaluable resource for art enthusiasts and students alike.
