
FPCCI and Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society Organize Community Program for Transgender-MSM Community
Chandigarh, [Date]: The Family Planning Association of India (FPCCI), Chandigarh branch, in collaboration with the Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society, organized a community program for the Transgender-MSM community at Hotel Rajshree, Industrial Area, Phase-1, Chandigarh.
The program was graced by the presence of senior deputy mayor of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, Jasvir Singh Banti, Project Director of Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society, Dr. Sushil Kumar Mahi, and member of Chandigarh State Transgender Welfare Board.
The program commenced with a Saraswati Vandana performed by the Transgender community. During the two-hour program, discussions were held on ways to prevent HIV/AIDS among the Transgender-MSM community, and information was provided on the facilities being implemented by the Government of India for individuals living with HIV.
The program also included information on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), a medication that reduces the risk of contracting HIV. PrEP is available at a minimal cost at the FPCCI Panchkula office.
The program concluded with a cultural performance and dinner hosted by the Transgender-MSM community.
This initiative aims to promote awareness and education on HIV/AIDS prevention and provide support to the Transgender-MSM community in Chandigarh.
