Haryana-BJP-Minister-Ranjit

The schedule for the Assembly elections-2024 has been released in Haryana on August 16. With this, there is a stir in the political parties. There is a lot of brainstorming going on in the parties about fielding candidates on all 90 seats along with laying the chessboard for victory in the election. But in the meantime, even before the announcement of tickets, leaders are seen singing rebellious tunes. At this time, Haryana’s Power Minister and BJP leader Ranjit Singh Chautala is the most discussed for adopting a rebellious attitude. Who is also the son of former Deputy Prime Minister Late Devi Lal.

Actually, Ranjit Chautala wants a ticket from Rania assembly seat of Sirsa district. Rania is considered a safe seat for Ranjit Chautala. Also, Chautala sees himself as the strongest and winning candidate on this seat. That is why Ranjit Chautala has become vocal about the ticket from Rania seat. Now Chautala has also given a challenging statement to his own party BJP. Chautala has said that, if BJP gives me a ticket from Rania then it is fine, otherwise BJP should take care of itself. I will definitely contest the election from Rania and will also win. I am the son of Chaudhary Devi Lal and I have my own support base apart from the party.

For example, Ranjit Chautala has also clearly said that whether BJP gives him a ticket or not, he will contest the election from Rania assembly seat in any case. In case he does not get a ticket, he can leave BJP and contest the election as an independent candidate, apart from this, the possibility of Chautala joining Congress cannot be ruled out. However, Chautala has called the talks of joining Congress a rumour. He says that he is in BJP and will remain in BJP in future too. At present, this statement of Chautala is being seen as a challenge for BJP. There may be an uproar in BJP regarding ticket distribution. There is a discussion that this time there is a preparation to cut the tickets of many MLAs and ministers.

Why did Chautala rebel over Rania seat?

Actually, Gopal Kanda’s party Halopa is contesting the election in alliance with NDA. On the other hand, Gopal Kanda’s brother and BJP leader Govind Kanda has declared his son Dhawal Kanda as a candidate from Halopa on Rania seat. This is the reason why Ranjit Chautala’s displeasure is coming to the fore. Because in such a situation his ticket has been put on hold. However, no statement has come from the BJP high command yet. At the same time, Ranjit Chautala has shown his displeasure and attacked Gopal Kanda sharply. Chautala said that Gopal Kanda’s only job is to win 1 seat and then get CLU done from the CM. He will lose Sirsa this time too.

Let us tell you that on last Monday, Minister Ranjit Chautala had called a meeting in Rania. In this meeting, Chautala had included only his supporters and workers. Elections were discussed in the meeting. But no BJP leader was invited to this meeting. By keeping distance from BJP leaders, Ranjit Chautala indicated that he can contest the elections as an independent or can also consider some other option.

Let us tell you here that Ranjit Chautala used to be in Congress earlier, he has been in Congress since a long time. Now he can consider going back to Congress. For this, he has also consulted his supporters. Since Rania is considered a safe seat for Ranjit Chautala, Congress i.e. Hooda is also not going to take much time to take Ranjit Chautala in their party.

Ranjit Chautala had joined BJP before the Lok Sabha elections

Ranjit Chautala won the 2019 assembly elections as an independent from Rania assembly seat of Sirsa district and supported BJP for the entire five years. In return, BJP kept Ranjit Chautala as the power and jail minister in the Haryana government from the quota of independent MLAs. During the Lok Sabha elections, BJP made Ranjit Chautala resign from the post of MLA of Rania and included him in its party and gave him a ticket from Hisar Lok Sabha seat after half an hour.

However, Jaiprakash JP of Congress won the election from Hisar and Ranjit Chautala had to face defeat. But the margin of Chautala’s defeat was not very high. The special thing is that, despite losing the Lok Sabha elections and resigning from the post of MLA of Rania, BJP kept Ranjit Chautala as the power minister in the cabinet of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini. Now Ranjit Chautala feels that BJP will hardly make him contest the assembly elections from Rania, in such a situation, he has started pressure politics and has indicated to leave the party.
