Surat: Two coaches of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Double Decker Express got separated from the running train on Thursday morning near Surat in Gujarat. Western Railway (WR) said that the incident took place around 8.50 am when the train (number 12932) reached the Gothangam yard between Sion and Surat railway stations. No one was injured in the incident and the separated coaches were later attached to the train.
The railways said on the social media platform ‘X’ that repair work was started immediately after the incident and up trains were run through the loop line. Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Vineet Abhishek said that the movement of other trains on the route was not affected. Later, Western Railway announced that the repair work was completed and traffic was restored on the sub main line at 11.22 am.
How did this accident happen
According to the information, the incident happened when the coupler of the train broke. Due to this, coach number 07 and 08 of the train got separated from the running train. However, due to the slow speed of the train, a major accident was averted and no passenger was injured. There was

Railway officials immediately reached the spot and started the necessary investigation. According to preliminary reports, this accident happened due to a technical fault in the coupler of the train.
