Delhi liquor scam case: Arvind Kejriwal challenged his arrest by CBI in the Supreme Court. Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal, demanded an early hearing. The Chief Justice asked him to send a formal email.

The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Kejriwal in the ED case. But he has not yet got bail in the CBI case. The Delhi High Court had rejected Kejriwal’s plea against arrest. He was asked to go to the trial court for bail.

Bail was granted in PMLA case

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail by the Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi in the money laundering or PMLA case. However, the Delhi High Court stayed this order on 25 June. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal then appealed to the Supreme Court, from where he got interim bail on 12 July. During this time, the CBI arrested him. Since then, he is lodged in Tihar Jail.

Let us tell you that ED arrested Arvind Kejriwal on 21st March in the money laundering case related to Delhi liquor policy. After this, CBI took him into custody on 26th June in the same case.
