Panchkula. Haryana Extension Lecturer Association can hold a massive agitation before the assembly elections to be held in the state in the next two and a half months. On behalf of the lecturers, it has been clarified regarding the demand for regularization that if the government does not fulfill their main demand, then on July 31, 2000 extension lecturers of the state will hold a state level agitation in Panchkula. Lecturers say that the government may have to face this challenge in the upcoming assembly elections.

This information was given by the state head of the association Ishwar Singh in a press conference in Panchkula on Monday. He told that they have met the Chief Minister of the state Naib Singh Saini, Education Minister Seema Trikha and Principal Secretary and submitted a memorandum regarding the demand to regularize the extension lecturers accepted by the government 3 years ago. But their demand has not been resolved yet. Angered by this, Haryana Extension Lecturer Association is being forced to protest.

Ishwar Singh said that since the year 2014, about 2000 extension lecturers working in various schools of the state have been continuously demanding regularization from the Haryana government. In 2022, this demand was accepted by the government, but despite the passage of three years, the government has not regularized the extension lecturers. He said that the two thousand lecturers working in the schools of the state include lecturers who have cleared PhD and NET and among them there are 1200 female lecturers.

He said that the government had accepted their demand for equal pay for equal work, but under the new education policy, more work is taken from the extension lecturers by stating that the requirement of posts is more than the regular posts in the schools. By reducing the work of the lecturers, their basic salary is also being cut. He told that the extension lecturer is paid salary according to the pay grade of 57700, while due to the changes made under the new education policy, the salary of the extension lecturer is reduced by reducing the number of periods and is given a pay grade of 35400. He said that at present there are about 200 lecturers in the state who are getting a pay grade of 57700. Apart from these, other lecturers are getting a pay grade of about 35400. At the same time, no accountability is fixed for the regular lecturer. Haryana Extension Lecturer Association also accused the government as well as the officials of the Higher Education Department and the school principal of discriminating against the extension lecturers. He said that the rights of the extension lecturers are being ignored at the school level and at the state level. The correct information about the posts in the department schools is not being sent to the government, that is why the demands of the extension lecturers are being ignored.
